Jawahar Associates, a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Engineering firm was founded in 1964 by Mr.A.Jawahar, a civil engineer by profession at Madurai, Tamilnadu. We specialize in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interiors, Property Valuation, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Project Management. Having an experience of over 50 years, we have worked on a wide range projects such as Industries, Hospitals, Corporate IT Parks, Hotels & Resorts, Educational Institutions, Individual Residences & Apartments, Malls & Retail Spaces, Spiritual Institutions and Landscape projects.
The firm believes in designing timeless spaces, quality construction, collaboration with various technical consultants, working together as a team to achieve excellence. We strive to translate every design brief into an experience that satisfies the end user in all aspects.
The Founder
Mr.A.JAWAHAR
Mr.A.Jawahar, a Civil Engineer by profession graduated from College of Engineering, Guindy in 1953. He established the firm “Jawahar Associates” at Madurai, Tamilnadu in 1956.He drew his strength from his knowledge in Civil Engineering, space planning, handling various engineering challenges, maintaining high quality in construction and integrity in valuation. He was very well known for his sincere commitment towards profession, perfection and punctuality. His prestigious projects include Indian Bank head quarters(Madurai), MDCC Bank head quarters(Madurai), Madurai Medical College, CSI Medical College, Madurai, Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank. His spiritual institutions include St.Joseph church Gnanavolivupuram,Madurai, Annai Velankanni church,Madurai, Idaikattur church.
He played an integral part in the restoration of the world renowned Meenakshi Amman Temple, Madurai as a restoration civil engineer. Mr.Jawahar a socialite, was actively a part of the Freemason’s Lodge where he served as a Workshipful Master and Rotary International where he served as an eminent President. These social forums has given him a wide oppurtunity to travel all around the world and meet so many international delegates. He was an avid tennis player and a wide traveller.
Management
Mr.JAWAHAR SURESH
Mr. Jawahar Suresh , a Civil Engineer by profession graduated from Annamalai University in 1982. He joined the firm and cultivated a scumptuos experience in civil construction, site management, property valuation, and property development.
He is registered valuer for IBBI and an Income Tax Valuer for capital gains. He is an empanelled Valuer for SBI, Indian Bank, TMB, UCO Bank, Axis Bank and Federal Bank. He worked under Mr.Jawahar and Architect Chitale during his early days of his career and gained a wide experience working on various projects.
The vision he has for the firm motivates and influences the firm to push the boundaries and reach greater heights. His leadership quality and his management skills are evident in various social forums. His contribution to Tamil language and literature is remarkable
Mr.JAWAHAR SURESH

Mr.JAWAHAR SUKUMAR
Mr.Jawahar Sukumar, an Architect by profession graduated from Manipal Institute of Technolgy in 1984. He joined the firm alter having a wide work experience as an architect with Alfred Wong Partnership,Singapore and Sanath Kumar Associates,Bangalore. He is the principal achitect of Jawahar Associates. He has uplilted the firm to greater heights and his contribution to the field of Architecture is remarkable.
His strength is in Architecture planning of Residences, Industries, Hospitals, Hotels, Institutions and Corporate offices. His passion for travel has taken him all over the world, exploring various Architecture forums, International trade fair to be updated on construction technologies and materials.
Mr.HARESH JAWAHAR
Mr.Haresh Jawahar, an Architect by profession graduated from RV College of Architecture,Bengaluru. He obtained his Masters degree in Interior design from renowned design school Scoula Politecnica di design,Milan,Italy in 2017. He has worked with notable Indian architects Deepak Guggari,VDGA, Pune and Praxis Architects,Bengaluru.He has a international work experience as an architect with Italy’s renowned design firm Issaco Brioschi Architects. His work experience in Europe has taken him to various design forums and fairs such as Salone del mobile, Cersaie fair and Marmmomac fair in Italy.
He has joined as the young partner in the firm and is instrumental in bringing a dynamic outlook to the practice. He specializes in Residential Interiors, Corporate Interiors, Retail Interiors and Hospitality Interiors. He is trained under architect Jawahar Sukumar under various Architectural projects all over India. Ar. Haresh leads a design firm called HARESH DESIGN REPUBLIC which specializes on bespoke interiors. He is a passionate traveller and an avid dog lover.
